Goodday Gluten Free began as Goodday Health Vitamin and Food Shoppe located in Lake Forest, Illinois. Goodday Health first opened in 1998 as mostly a vitamin store and then, at the suggestion of several customers, started carrying a small assortment of gluten free foods. As the years passed the gluten free area of the store became larger and we also sent out our first mail order catalog. The response from that catalog made us realize that, even though we were a “mom and pop” operation, we had to continue to grow and expand in order to serve the customer base at the quality level they expected.

Today we know that we are not just in the business of selling gluten free foods. Most people who are gluten intolerant also have problems with other food ingredients. And the most important words to them can be, “cross contamination” and “produced in a facility that also manufactures….”. Advances in medicine and a better understanding of the gluten free lifestyle has shown all of us that “gluten free” is no longer just about gluten.

We cannot just sell the product.

Manufacturers continue to raise the bar on the quality and purity of the foods they sell. Food authors write more books about gluten free cooking since, as we all know, eating gluten free foods is one thing but preparing them is a whole new kitchen experience.

Goodday Gluten Free will continue to serve you, the customer; on every level because we know that no matter how much we do it is still not enough.
