Helping High School and College Bound Students Address the Gluten Free Diet
The social and practical challenges of high school and college students with Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance will be discussed at the March 24, 2010, program and presented by Cathy Cambell of the Gluten Intolerence Group (GIG) of Harrisburg. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m in the Community Room of the Giant Food Store, 3301 Trindle Road, Camp Hill.
Cathy, a teacher, will describe how she helped prepare her 20-year old daughter, who was diagnosed three weeks before her junior year of college, for eating at a school cafeteria.
Her research has evolved into a helpful web site: celiacstudent.com, which outlines special procedures for the college search, snack foods, cooking equipment, and more.
